Dubai to Host the 5th World Government Summit

The Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum affirmed the launch of this year’s World Government Summit. The highly anticipated event is set to be held on 12th February, 2017.

This event is expected to house the largest gathering of international organizations, governments, and leaders. The aim of the summit is to help shape future governments.

There will be 150 key speakers for 144 sessions with over 144 dignitaries within 138 global delegations. By far, this would be the largest summit since the forum’s inception in 2013.

The first day of the summit will see His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum holding a keynote session.

The Crown Prince of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Maktoum will also grace the podium. He is expected to announce a significant future project for Dubai.

As part of their partnership with the government, several international organizations will use the event to conduct meetings to promote a mutual platform and combine efforts.

Among these organizations are the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the World Bank (WB), United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), and United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

This event will yet put Dubai on the global map as a key contributor to better governance and leadership in the world, which in turn promotes economic growth and sustainability.
